And this enzyme recognizes those sequences and then does a cross-over, what it does is cut and, and re-paste across this junction and in the process the DNA is going from here to here to here, and then the process deletes the gene. So if we control where Cre is expressed in the, where it's functional anywhere in the mouse, for example just in the limb bud, then this gene will only be excised from the cells in the limb bud and result essentially in DNA in which the gene is completely gone.
