Activity description:

This three-part series will take you through the bioinformatics of DNA barcoding using the DNA Subway Blue Line (https://dnasubway.cyverse.org/). Bioinformatics – the data science of biology – is crucial to understanding life. By using computers and software, we can analyze biological data and gain insights that are not possible with other tools. DNA barcoding allows us to take a DNA sample (e.g. from an organism, food) and identify the species it came from. We will follow along using the DNA Subway to create a project and analyze data in an example experiment.
