What is Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID)?
Mutations in the sequence of the ADA gene (and another gene on the X chromosome called IL2RG) can cause severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). People with SCID are prone to bacterial, viral, and fungal infections.
