Personalized medicine and pharmacogenomics, James Watson
Interviewee: James Watson. James Watson talks about personalized medicine and pharmacogenomics.
Now that, you know, we have the reference genome, the question arises what are our individual variations and spotting those variations which make some of us, you know, get arthritis or not get arthritis, or let a drug work on one of us and not work on us. And people call it pharmacogenomics, and it's a big buzz now. It's going to be harder to actually, it's not going to be here in 5 years, but in 25 years we'll be able to take drugs with much greater confidence that they're really going to work on us.
