DNALC Teen Science Club

DNA Learning Center staff will facilitate 6-week virtual clubs exploring topics in biology.

Each club will be student-driven and culminate in a project. Topic and format of the project will differ depending on the club. This is a great way to meet other students interested in science and have a chance to investigate new areas of science. Have a topic in mind you would like to see in the future? Email us at dnalcnyc@cshl.edu.

  • Open to high cchool students ages 14-18
  • $150 per student

Are you fascinated by fungi? Shocked by sharks? Excited by evolution? In this student-driven science club, students will explore Earth’s biodiversity and history of life. The instructor will introduce the theory of evolution and go through some of the tools scientists use to study relationships between species. Students will have the chance to research a branch of the tree of life, learn how fossils and DNA can tell us about the history and evolution of these organisms and lead class discussions on current topics in evolution.
