INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT STATEMENT To be completed by superintendent, principal, or department chairperson. _________________________ has applied to participate in a training workshop that is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. The terms of the grant stipulate that school officials be familiar with the goals of the workshop: 1) To invigorate and enthuse participants about using the Internet in science education. 2) To encourage the use of concepts from modern genomics research in classroom curriculum. 3) To encourage the involvement of students in relevant and ongoing scientific projects 4) To encourage networking among faculty within regional areas. The National Science Foundation also encourages the sponsoring school to take reasonable measures to support participants' efforts to incorporate what is learned into their own classes.
